At 7.30pm on May 28th (during Flushing Arts Week), the operatic soprano, Vanessa Bowers, will make a welcome return to Flushing on Sunday, 28 May, when she will be accompanied on our John Strohmenger piano by the young composer and conductor, Jack Ridley. Vanessa and Jack are currently on tour with the English Touring Opera Company which will be playing the Hall for Cornwall during the following week.
Vanessa’s programme will include all three movements of Mozart’s Exultate Jubilate as well as music by Handel, Puccini and Sir Arthur Sullivan. In the second half, Vanessa is to sing a selection of well-known English folk songs including Waly Waly and I will give my love an Apple.
Jack, who is a most accomplished professional pianist and conductor will be playing some solo items on our John Strohmenger grand piano.
